days 3 through 5 in Verona
Hello,
i will make this short as i have other things i want to be doing besides writing. so here it goes on wednesday we went to the foothills of the alps, and to a natural land bridge it was amazing, it was a little warm but still beautiful and green and lots of people picnicking and napping. that night fra made us some rice she learned to make in india but with risotto rice so it did not turn out the way she had planned, and dun dun dun we opened the easter egg she received from her mother it is a large egg (larger then the ones you can get in the UK) and inside is a prize, my mother will remember this as she brought one home for me when i was about 7 from Italy.
the following day we got up and toured some churches in the area and spent some time by the river. That night we went to the bar Malacarne, which translates to the bar of bad meat. Or an old butcher shop to be precise! it was a little bit eerie being a vegetarian in the meat shop especially when we went into the basement for a musical video show thing. it was pomo art at it's finest. so i can assure you that pomo art in Italy is the same as in the US, sometimes a little bit crap when you aren't in the mood for it!
on friday we got up ate some breakfast and went back to bed, then in the afternoon we went to the lake about a 40 minute car ride away and walked along the beautiful lake walk, on the way there we listened to some Punjabi music, it's the music played at weddings in india! then fra's mom came home, she works out of town and just comes home for the weekend, and made us some tortellini and then we at the "colomba" which translates to dove, it is a type of cake with candied oranges that is eaten around easter time, good stuff.
so today, who knows, maybe not so much.
hope all is well with everyone, the photos will be amazing:)
xoxo,
christie
