test test test

hello everyone. this is my second try at blogging today so lets hope this one works. i went to 2 different great art things today. i moved into the city center for the weekend with francesca and then i will find a different hostel that is within city centere but maybe not so loud. so the 2 things i made it to today include the camera obscura building on the royal mile. this was a cool thing, and one of the first of its kind when it was originally built in 1893. so a camera obscura works is a mirror is tilted at a 45 degree angle and then what it captures is reflected into 3 different lens on to a concave piece of wood. so you could see the whole city. pretty cool. and then the rest of the time was spent running through the 5 floors of fun house magic with holograms pin hole camera photos and one of those cool electrical balls when you put your hand on it and it lights up.

the other great thing i went to the scottish museum of modern art...dun dun dun and a maplethorpe retrospective. lots of great famous photos by him of patti smith, self portraits, some of plants, and of course the gay s+m scene in new york during the 80s. so that was great and then i also saw some more cindy sherman's from a more recent body of work as well as some other modern art like modrion paintings etc etc. not a lot of photography exhibitions around here. so it is daylight savings night todya in europe so we will see what the extended evening holds. so perhaps i will talk to you all in a while. ciao for now.
