the roof is on fire (literally)

Hello, christie here to let you in on some more info about dublin. so on saturday night the spanish peeps that live below us decided to have a techno dance party at 4am, woohoo, more rude that my american neighbors. so fran went down and said something to them and she was treated very rudely and told by one of the party guests that she could go to her house and sleep there. which fran responded with, look i like my house! so not so fun with the neighbors, this is the second time in 2 weeks that this has happened, so three strikes and you get the garda and land lord called! also on sunday it was another pancake sunday, even paul stayed for brunch! i also made a sugar free apple/banana bread, it was great. fran took about half of it to sligo with her and paul, brother owen, and brother's friend Kiernan had some before i even got to it, so thumbs up from the surrogate fam! i also went for a walk around the city and then to Merrion Square, where they finally figured out that the lawn mower was too low (ding ding ding) and finally raised it so the grass was nice and long and a lot softer then Minnesota grass. so i spent about 3 hours just laying in the park in the grass reading my book. after that i went home to talk to Paul and friends. Before fran left on her trip she washed her duvet cover and sheets and asked me to bring them in the room before paul and friends were smoking in the kitchen, unfortunately i got home too late to save them from the smoke but they weren't in too bad of shape, so i asked Paul about the finer points of putting a duvet cover on the actual duvet, paul explained it to me how you should do it, and then said, "it's a lot of fine, you'll like it!" who knew house work could be described as fun, so if you ever need assistants with putting your duvet cover on your duvet i have done it once but it is rather fun.

at about 11pm i was laying in bed reading my book when i starte hearing a popping noise, like a fire cracker (fire crackers are banned here, along with guns) so i opened my window to see where it was coming from and low and behold there was a building on fire not more then 200feet away, like really on fire, but luckily the fire department came quickly and the fire was contained, no spreading to my homey home. some excitment you'll find only here in dublin.

on monday i was going to get up early and do some fun stuff but i got up late and decided to read my book instead, so i wound up at the Cheaster Beatty Library, lots of korans, bibles and chinese calligraphy it was great to see some of this stuff, like ancient gospels written by mark in papyrus from the 400A.D.s pretty crazy! i also so some actual prints from Goya, the Caprices, a series of prints depicting the horrors of the catholic church and what the monarchy was doing to people, here i never thought i would see one of these prints in my life and i saw 3 in the series, i also saw some turner prints, and turner was known for his paintings of the sublime, beautiful with some mysticisim. nice find for me, i also got a free chinese calligraphy poster out of the deal, so i will be mailing it home for myself! so that's about all for now, i am going to make myself a tofu dish, since all i have had today is bread products!

I'm going to Fenway Park Tuesday to cheer the Red Sox as they try to whoop up on the White Sox. Look for me at the game! I'll be screaming "yuuuuuuke" for my favorite player, Kevin Youkilis.

Sssssh: I'm calling in "sick" so I can go. I feel a "staff" infection coming on, if you know what I mean.

Hopefully there will be no fires or loud parties below my seats or gypsies to yell at...er something.

:P

so was it Chip or Dale? I mean, he was in kids...was he near the Disney books???

And yes, my voice is all raspy from shouting/cheering at the game. We won, a good game...close matchup. So it was exciting. Although our seats stunk :( way back in the right field bleachers, 3 rows down from the very top. But it was a good game and nothing beats being there in person... :)
