Sunday through Wednesday

Hello all,

Just wanted to let you know of a few updates. On Sunday I went to the National Museum, again for like the 4th time. it was great, i saw all sorts of taxidermed animals as well as these cool little things that Derrick pointed out while he was visiting of these little wooden coffins that they found buried on Arthur's Seat. The little exhibition all about witchcraft was super interesting. also that day my friend Rachelle and I made Calzon-Es. she pronounces the Es while i do not, any I-talians out there if you know, can you set us straight.

on monday evening i made fudge and guinness brownies for my made up February day. The fudge was not so successful but the brownies were great, as usual. so the funny thing is once i got home and was ready to make them, i realized i did not buy a key ingredient, Guinness, so i hopped down to the corner store and purchase a can of Guinness, and i couldn't believe it got carded! apparently i look about 14, the first time ever in Scotland of getting carded.

on tuesday night i had my made up holiday party at Hector's bar in Stockbridge. with Fruili fudge and Friend's it was a success. Fruili is strawberry beer if you didn't know. so it was a fun time but we stayed into the wee hours of the morning and they had to kick us out. wednesday aka hump day was not so great for any of us at work, too much fun and fruili makes for frantic flabbergasted furious friend's or something like that, if you have some better descriptive F words send them my way.

so things are a-Okay here in Scotland.

hello cruel world:)

well i have finally gotten my blog to work again. sorry for being gone for so long. google owns blogger and wants everyone to have google email accounts (big brother perhaps) so i was trying to get myself a google account and then trying to set it up and link the blog to the email account. who knew it could be so difficult.

so anyway here's some of the things that have happened in the last weeks. after st. andrews my friend derrick came to visit me. we went on a tour of Loch Lomond as well as Stiriling Castle. Also we went to North Berwick and Dunbar. Then off to Glasgow for a few hours where I got to see the Mackintosh house, amazing. I also have attended some exhibitions around town. i can't really blog what i saw and did as i don't really have the energy to do so but you can look them up on the map and ask me if i saw this or that and i will tell you yes or no.

so to live the now today is saturday and i have done not too much, i went to the women's suffrage exhibition in the Parliment building and then i will perhaps go to North Berwick tomorrow, assuming it is not raining, as i have already seen it in the rain. my phone is not working today so i am a bit frustrated by that as my friend Chantel has just gotten back from China/Japan and i would really like to see her-so only time will tell.

i went to the Vagina Monologues on Thursday, great performance, no sleepiness in that theater, quite funny and interesting subject matter.

on friday my friend Rachelle and i went to the Socialist Militant Group forum-to see a film about homosexuality in a communist society, it turned out the film was funded by the cuban government and was all about how yes we are a communist society but you still have a voice and to respect everyone, so it battled racism as well as homophobia. interesting film indeed. will i go to another one of their forums, probably not but if there is another film, not a talk, then i will probably go for sure.

so that's about it from here in Scotland. Glad to be back online.

a busy weekend

well guys it was a busy one this weekend. it was a craptastic work week so it was good to get out and do lots of stuff. so on friday fiona wasn't there, so typical when the cat's away the mice will play. we were invited to an on floor social hour/get to know your coworkers thing. so on friday afternoon at about 1:45 Elise, Rachelle and myself went over to the finance wing of the new building helped ourselves to some free wine and cookies. then Catherine had to come and retrive us and tell us we had to do some work:( so later that night I met Rachelle, Elise, Elise's boyfriend Steve, and Steve's "hetersexual lifemate" aka his friend Brian at the Black Bull and then we went on to my first night club, called Ego and the theme of the night was modern lovers, where we listened to a bunch of northern soul and danced till the wee hours of the morning. It was really fun to go out and the music was from the 50s to the 60s, just one rolling stones song. On Saturday i got up at 10 and did a bunch of fun things like get camera batteries as well as new contacts and nigglie stuff like that. Since everyone bailed on me for Sunday i went to St. Andrew's by myself. i am used to going places by myself without a map (Paris, Galway, Glasgow) so Luckars to St. Andrew's was not bad. This is the small city where Prince William went to school very nice coast line and a really non existint castle and cathedral. but the cathedral is supposedly haunted. oooooohh. the castle has a mine and counter mine, basically someone tried to dig under the castle with a surprise attack. it worked in the end but you can see where they stopped and started, it was great, you like confined spaces go to St. Andrews castle. Later on that evening I had dinner with my friend Garvin. So good times had by all. Oh as well, i have a new flatmate, Martina, from Slovenia, and someone who has verbal diarrhea, it is very difficult to get a word in edgewise-but oh well things will probably improve, she might want to know something about me at some point. I also talked to fra fra on the phone-uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu! so it was great to hear from her.

hope you are all well.
